London Guide

Cafes

Probably my area of expertise and my strongest recommendations

cafe

Miel Bakery

  • Close to Regents Park
  • Great coffee (probably best on this list) and pastries, the sausage roll is my favourite, but the non-red meat stuff is really good as well

Arome Bakery

Get the honey toast. Good for breakfast if you’re living around there

Fortitude Bakehouse

My favourite bakery in the world. Off a cute side street near Russel Square tube. They open early and sell out quick, so either go early or at 11 when the beignets come out

Ta'mini Lebanese Bakery

Good Bloomsbury bakery stop for Lebanese flatbreads and pastries; better if you want something savory rather than just sweets

Jolene

There’s a few of these, mostly in the east. The one I go to is on Hornsey Road but if there’s a more convenient one definitely stop by

Kuro Bakery and Bagels

  • There’s Kuro Bagels, Kuro Bakery, and Kuro Coffee (3 different stores) all around the corner from each other
  • Their sakuro is probably the best single baked good I’ve ever had, great to work into a Notting Hill/Portobello Street Market day (see above)
  • Lots of Americans in this area, if there’s a Kevin working at Bagels tell him Abhi sent you
